Sensory processing sensitivity (SPS) is a genetically predisposition   that is characterized by deep cognitive processing of physical, social, and   emotional stimuli. Due to these characteristics, individuals high in SPS tend   to develop proportionally worse in negative environment and benefit more from   positive environment than those low in SPS. In this seminar, Dr. Yan will introduce   their research on the role of both parents’ and children’s sensory processing   sensitivity in marriage system and parent-child interaction system through   longitudinal study, diary study, and laboratory behavioral experiment. These   results may lay a theoretical foundation for our further understanding of the   underlying mechanisms of sensory processing sensitivity, and provide   implications for the development of effective family intervention projects.
